Default This month's special flavor: NR/Tranq

So I have seen a quite a few good teams running this build the last couple days. I just wanted to get some input on the best way to beat the build. The obvious tactic is to keep the spirits down as much as possible and just generally pester the spammers, (I have seen three of them in most permutations of this build; 1R and 2Rt.) but does anyone have any good ideas as to how to counter the build?

yes use to run this a few weeks ago.... but with the ladder unlocking looming we have to gvg ....

well this build was a chain of build stealing...... u damn right consume chicken stole that build... anyways its origins probably came from the urge to defeat Dual Smite

Pros:
Good against Dual Smite
Good against IWAY
Good at Relic Running

Cons:
Weak againts Heavy Degen
Weak againts Denial
Weak againts Choaking Gas/Interupts
Weak againts Ranger Spike (note its only bad againts bspike if the infuser is bad... Bspike can easily be infused)

Well the pros outweigh the cons in this build but not enough alter holding capabilities to be worth while..

Yeh,I'm sure CC didn't invent this build since i saw many other guilds playing it before them. Anyway,I just want to point out that build is bad against heavy hex builds. You have renewal,so only way you can survive is to put your chokers on their hex spammers (under renewal it shouldn't be hard to interrupt).

nr/tranq builds are ruining the rank system. nerf it.

seriously, its a good build vs melee based builds, which are like 90% (estimate ok?) of HA.

Why is it good vs. melee builds? If anything, these guilds running nr/tranq ARE melee based (2 warriors is pretty much guaranteed).

Eh? Degen comes in two forms - conditions and hexes. Hex-heavy teams get pretty screwed by NR, and the most dangerous pure degen condition is disease through Taints, which is countered by Tranq. Are Crip + Apply rangers and trappers that much of a problem?

coz an HA melee build is either smite or ooa iway :P.

to follow your logic, nr/tranq is good vs nr/tranq.

The build was created by Time is Running Out... the build was stolen by Ganked... which then was stolen by us... they didn't mind we were in the same alliance as them at the time... Ganked got a bad rep for trash talking so they formed a new guild promising ganked leader the leadership title... but then left the ganked leader to form Consume Chicken... They held a few times.. though recently i have not seen them hold...

there are a few variations of the cookie cutter... 2 warriors 1 fire 1 warder 1 WoE 1 Infuser 1 rit 1 nr/tranq spammer.... CC runs it with psychic distraction Ele... and drop their warrior..

i've seen the ranger carry choaking gas sometimes.... build is open for improvement but it gets the job done... just can't hold for very long..

held 2 times with it today and would have held a third time but reds ghostly hero capped from outside of the alter even after bodyblock.. they seriously need to fix the ghostly glitches...

GL running it...

well since normally the ritualist spammer is in cast range a savage shot is enough to shutdown him.

i see many of them not taking mantras.

plus i think the build lack of hex removal. a migrane mesmer will be good as long you kill renew.

A seeking arrows ranger is enough to own that build.

I agree that we didn't invent the build, we only made it better. We haven't had any problem with anything really besides hex heavy builds and the "PITA" build, which involves N/E and N/Mo classes to gain energy off soul reaping from their two spirit spammers. Other than that, we havent had much problems against Degen, Denial, Choking Gas/Interupts, and any kind of Bspike or Rspike. We roll just about everything besides that.

its pretty hard to run the build if u have crap monks cause its 2 monk build and the infuser usually carries martyr which can screw his kiting if he gets crippled.

/agree

We ran our 1w/2e/1n/1r/1rt variation nr/tranq for the past week and the only problem seems to be the "PITA" build. If anyone saw the scarred earth match.. 42 or so minutes....

there are alot of variation of this but i think the best part about it are interupts (atleast ours).

Its both a NR/Tranq Build, and a Counter to NR/Tranq Builds
